When the company I was working for 10 years ago decided to move from Elk Grove Village to Elgin, I said to myself; It will take me forever to get to work in the morning and I’ll have to find a new job. It didn’t take me long to fall in love.
Each lunch hour, I would drive around and familiarize myself with Elgin. I vowed that some day I would live here. In July of 2005, I convinced my husband that we had to move, we found a cute little home and the dream came true.
The intact history and beautiful architecture are what drew me here; the friendly residents and community efforts along with the cultural diversity is what made me desire to adopt Elgin as my own. I may not have lived here long but I am an Elginite.
This site is a place for me to document my experiences as I uncover the joys of living in this grand old city on the Fox River.
